We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Bible is God’s complete and final revelation of the will of God to man and it is inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed. Therefore, the Bible is the final authority for faith and life.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21)
We trust and use the King James Version.
We believe that there is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe. He is all powerful, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
(Ex. 6:2-3; Deut. 6:4; Psa. 19:1-3; Matt. 28:19; John 14:6-13; Gal. 4:6; Eph. 4:6)
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself completely with mankind, but without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience through His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus has made salvation possible through His work of redemption.
(Isa. 53:1-12; Matt. 1:18-23; 28:1-6, 19; John 1:1-18; 11:25-27; Rom. 1: 3-4; 8:1-3; Eph. 1:7, 20; Heb. 9:12-15; 1 John 1:7-9)
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. The Holy Spirit convicts, calls, and seals believers. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which a believer serves God through His church. We believe the Holy Spirit enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.
(Gen. 1:2; Psa. 139:7; Matt. 12:28-32; John 14:16-17, 26; 16:7-14; Rom. 8:26-27; 1 Cor. 12:3-11)
Man was created by the special act of God, in His own image, and is the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Through the temptation of Satan, man transgressed the command of God and fell from his original innocence. Only by the grace of God, through the work of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection can humanity be brought back into His holy fellowship.
(Gen. 1:26-30; 2:5,7, 18-22; 3; Rom. 3:23; Eph. 2:1-22)
We believe that salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
(John 3:3-21; Rom. 8: 1-18, 29-39; Eph. 2:8-9)
We believe a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by spiritual gifts and by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel. A New Testament church is committed to observing the two ordinances of Christ (Christian baptism and the Lord’s Supper), His teachings and Word, and seeking to extend the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
(Matt. 16:15-19; Acts 2:41-27; 5:11-14; 1 Cor. 1:2; 3:16; 7:17; 12; 1 Tim. 3:1-15)
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman for a lifetime. Marriage is God’s unique gift that models the way Christ loves the Church. Therefore, we only support and encourage the institution of marriage between one man and one woman; and, we are committed to honoring the priority of family in our ministries.
(Gen. 1:26-28; 2:15-25; Deut. 6:4-9; Matt. 19:4-6; Rom. 1:18-32; Eph. 5:22-33)
