Some prisoners were discussing how no one can tell their own future.  One man spoke up, saying his uncle was clairvoyant.  He knew the year, month, week, hour and even minute that his life would end.  When asked how his uncle could possibly know that, the prisoner replied, “The judge told him!”

There is no question that time has importance. As a matter of fact, it is even mentioned 620 times in 563 verses of Scripture. However, too often, time is given credit for things it cannot do!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 tells us, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Time doesn’t control God; God controls timeGenesis 1:3-5 says, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

Time doesn’t heal; God alone can healExodus 15:26 says, “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”

Time doesn’t determine lives; only the Sovereign God does! Job 7:1: “Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?” Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Time is of no greater essence in life than at life’s end. When one leaves this physical life unto a life eternal, the time to ask and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is NOW! God is very clear as to the time for salvation for all. 2 Corinthians 6:2 tells us, (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Lost person, time can’t wait. Don’t you!
